How this works

First: Your Digital File
We try to make our process as easy and comprehensive as possible, making this accessible to the first-timer as well as the professional
First we begin with a file. The digital file is what we use to make a print from. It's sometimes referred to as a "digital negative". If you have one, great, if not, worry not! We can make one for you...

Scanning
We can take whatever artwork, negative or print you have and turn it into a digital file.
We use a variety of techniques to capture the greatest possible detail, fully capturing every nuance of your work. For all work up to approximately 15"x22", we can flatbed scan your work, with a resolution of up to 2400dpi. For larger works, such as paintings, we shoot with a 50 megapixel Hasselblad.

Retouching
If there is a need for Photoshop work on your files, other than the standard color corrections and cropping, we will discuss a retouching job with you, give you an estimate.
Retouching work is billed at $80/hr by 15 minute increments

Paper selection
The sky is the limit.
While the amount of paper options numbers in the hundreds, at Brooklyn Archival, we try to stock a wide variety of options that should suit your needs. We have an example on hand of every type of paper we carry for easy comparisons.
Also, if the print size requested in sizable, we would always print a proof on the paper of choice to make certain of the selection, before proceeding with the final print.

And finally... the Print!
Once all options are selected, we will send you an online invoice.
After this invoice is paid, we will begin production of your print(s). As long as we have the paper in stock, the turnaround time is usually 2-3 days (more with larger orders).
We would then ship the print(s) to you or send you a message to make an appointment for pickup.
